I slept well at the KOA, waking and hitting the road by around eight o’clock. Their facilities were a step above the RV parks that I have been staying in, although I like the down home feel if given the choice. I seem to prefer environments that are a touch gritty.
It was a long haul in the heat to the town of Geyser. On the way, I encountered several groups of cattle and horse. It’s interesting when we stare at one another. They’re not used to the movement of the bicycle. I often say hello and send a good feeling to them in a way that I think they can feel.

Later on down the road, the group of young men cycling from coast to coast pulled up behind me. I was surprised because I believed that they had left me in the dust long ago. They blew by in their tight peloton greeting me with courtesy. I later stopped to chat with the group while one man changed his flat. They were interested in my alt. bar and dynamo hub for generating electricity.
In Geyser, I tied my horse up at the Cabin Creek Bar. There, I ordered a Dr. Pepper and a burger. The peloton came in shortly after, and I chatted a little more with the young men. I also talked with a number of locals, some involved with the school, some farmers. Conversation was light and kind.

After a fairly short ride to Stanford, I cycled into Double B RV Park, located right off the route. The proprietors live on site and set me up with WiFi password, coins for laundry and a spot to camp. I set up my tent, threw a load in the washing machine and took a shower. It should always be this easy.

While I waited outside for my clothes to finish drying, a young girl practiced ripping around a gated yard on a motorcycle. She was loud, but adept.

Note: I dropped two socks behind the dryer, necessitating my pulling the unit forward on the concrete. A fire extinguisher was temporarily shifted to a new position to enable this action. Both socks were recovered. I picked the socks relatively free of lint.
In the evening, I talked to my Olin, Mom and, later, Beth. This all amounted to another good day on the road.
