| Leaving Poor Folks |
The previous night brought considerable rain. While my bicycle wasn't completely sheltered, the bags were tightly closed.
Upon packing up, we cycled into downtown Haugen, making a pit stop at Lona’s Corner Cafe. Despite the diner being chock-full, the service was exceptional.

After covering over 20 miles on our bikes, we reached Birchwood and spotted the Chit Chat bar. Here, Donald and I decided to grab a meal. The booth we occupied could have used a cleaning - we both found ourselves sticking to the bench seats. Mathew, the owner's second-grade nephew, kindly served us water and cleared our empty glasses. After eating, I devoted some time to blogging. Later, Mathew and I engaged in a basketball game, playing up to five points. It took me a while to find my shooting range on the hoop.

After logging more miles on the road, we stopped at a local grocery store. As we arrived, we noticed a shift in the weather. Donald received a weather alert on his phone, and a passerby also warned us about incoming rain, thunder, and lightning. We decided to reassess our plans after biking another 4.5 miles to the Seven Winds Casino.

By the time we reached Seven Winds, it was clear we needed to secure accommodation, and quickly. Rain began to fall and thunder echoed in the distance. The three of us pooled our resources for a reasonably priced king suite, taking full advantage of the sauna, swimming pool, hot tub, and shower offered by the Seven Winds. It was an unbeatable deal.
We traversed forty-five miles on our bikes today.
